No more revision for the worse:
Rengo' s sit-in for the labour law review

Rengo has been developing a campaign for blocking the deregulation of labour standards and realising labour legislation promoting workers' rights. It continued sit-in protest over four days from 5 November in front of the Ministry of Labour to demand the review of labour laws.
At the meeting on 5 November General Secretary Sasamori appealed to 300 participants, "800 million Rengo is no worth of existence if we cannot set on action for the people on the weak side. We no longer accept revision of labour law for the worse, not only for workers but also for those looking after housekeeping. Let's reflect workers' voice to the Ministry of Labour and the Diet."
A lot of members of parties co-operating with Rengo came to encourage and sent a word of "Take a new step for the Japanese future!" Trade union leaders from Europe and the United States and representatives of international organizations, who were in Japan to attend the high level trade union meeting for the G8 Kobe jobs conference, came to the meeting to support under the hard schedule. President Washio spoke, "This action should be developed over the international expanse, not only in Japan," and appealed international solidarity and co-operation.
