Deliberation Begun on Bill for Labor Standards Law and RENGO Continues Counteractions

Deliberation begun in the Diet, with the gist accounting and general interpellations in the House of Councillors, to discuss the bill for Labor Standards Law on 21 April.
RENGO extended actions for actualizing Rengo's proposal. RENGO expanded its actions to hearings, gatherings in the Diet and so on to actualizing Rengo's proposal and revision of Government bill.

On 22 April, Labour Minister accounted for the bill for the Labor Standards Law in the Labour Committee of the House of Councillors, and on the following 24 April, general interpellations by the parties, deliberation continued on 28 April. RENGO encourages Diet members in the Labour Committee of the opposition parties which heads for own bill based on the RENGO's one, namely, the Democratic Party, the New Peace Party, the Reformers' Network Party, and the Liberal Party, and even of the government parties those sympathize RENGO's proposal, namely, the Liberal Democratic Party and the New Party Sakigake.
In the meeting at the Councillors' Office Building, the 150 participants from parties and RENGO affiliates requested 6 trillion yen tax cuts and actualizing Rengo's proposal. Mr. Sasamori, Secretary-General of RENGO pointed out the critical issues in the Diet and appealed cooperation by parties. The points are as follows; 1. economic measures for recovery, especially institutionalization of tax cuts, 2. the Labor Standards Law which provides peace and stability to workers, 3. unification of political powers that tied to the voice of the people.
