On March 25, the 14th Unified Local Election kicked off 12 gubernatorial election campaigns in Tokyo, Osaka and other cities. General Secretary Sasamori rushed to give an endorsement speech at Kunio Hatoyama's nomination rally held in front of his campaign office in Shinjuku, Tokyo.
A gubernatorial election poll will be taken on April 11.

In humanitarian gesture, RENGO presented 1,600 blankets via the All China Trade Union Federation (ACFTU) to the victims of the Southern China flood that occurred last June.
General Affairs and Finance Director Ohbori, who visited ACFTU last February in preparation for the RENGO delegation to China in April, presented the blankets along with a letter from President Washio to President Wei Jian-xing. RENGO purchased the blankets through affiliated organizations with money raised through fund-raising campaigns last year.
