2000 Spring Struggle A minimum standard to win in full for small and medium enterprises (14 April 2000) |
The Spring Struggle for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) will come to its peak, while about one third of private sector negotiations have been concluded. The RENGO's Joint Struggle Center for SMEs organized a rally on 7 April, in order to put out a last spurt during the week of 10 April as the target dates for most of negotiations for SME to be settled. Mr. Hattori, Chairperson of the Center, started the rally stating that there should be two standards to achieve for the Spring Struggle for SMEs this year. The first standard is a regular standard to ensure the level of the previous year as usual; the second, a minimum standard to put the break on stagnant wage hike, which has been set at 3,000 yen. Mr. Sasamori, General Secretary of RENGO, stirred up members by saying: A minimum standard has been set with firm determination that the negotiation should not be concluded at the lower level than the minimum standard. |
