RENGO held a symposium entitled "Before You Know It, It's a Different Company" at an assembly chamber in Sohyo Kaikan on January 12 as part of our first round of concrete actions for the Spring Struggle 2000.

Within the current trend to enforce the Industrial Revitalization Law, introduce consolidated finances, and propose the Corporate Breakup Bill at the current ordinary Diet session, it is necessary to study labor contract issues that deal with employment/labor conditions as well as the continuation of the labor union structure. The symposium was held with the intent of strengthening efforts to legislate the "Worker's Protection Law in Business Structure Reorganization (tentative)."
