RENGO opened its "42nd House of Representatives Election Strike Headquarters Office" for the coming General Election in June, and held an opening-office ceremony at Sohyo Kaikan Hall in Tokyo, May 11.

Secretary General for Election Polling Committee Sasamori, Secretary General for Strike Headquarters Suzuki, Election Polling Committee for Women, Chair Morooka, Igusa President of RENGO Tokyo, and several hundred participants from affiliates gathered for the ceremony.
In his opening speech, SG Sasamori, spoke on behalf of Strike Headquarters, "Let's return as many Democratic Party lawmakers to the Diet as possible to keep the Liberal Democratic Party from a single-party majority."
Responding, Hiroshi Kumagaya Director General of the Democratic Party Election Polling General Task Force fervently appealed, "We ask for your support in defeating LDP power politics which trample workers' feelings."
Following that, Diet member Masamitsu Jojima and Kozo Watanabe each declared their determination and all the participants drank a toast to ultimate victory led by RENGO Executive Secretary Susumu Takato.
