On December 10, United Nations
Human Rights Day, RENGO held a Burma (Myanmar) Seminar at Sohyo Kaikan

people under the military administration, and to think what we, as unions,
union members, and citizens, can do about it. Approximately 40 people
attended from affiliated organizations, local RENGO and related organizations.
At the outset of the seminar President Sasamori gave an opening speech
appealing for the necessity of strengthening cooperation with Asian
countries, RENGO hopes to maintain future cooperation through
the Burma Japan Office in order to be the main supporter
of democratizing activities.
Current conditions and efforts were reported in the first part of the
seminar from each of the following people. Tokyo University of Foreign
Studies Professor Nemoto, RENGO Headquarters International Division
Director Abe, Asia/Pacific Regional Secretary of International Transport
