| This conference was held at RENGO headquarters from
February 28 to Match 1 and attended by members from RENGO, ICFTU, ICFTU-APRO,
ITS and others. President Washio gave a speech representing the host organization
stated that RENGO seeks the realization of democracy in Myanmar (Burma)
as soon as possible, and supports ILO sanctions meted out for the first
time in history, and also supports Burmese in Japan, etc. The conference
closed after adopting the slogan, "Tokyo Declaration and Action Plans
for Global Unions" for the realization of democracy in Myanmar. |
