National Rally held to demand the return of the presently Russian-held Northern Territories to Japan

The National Rally was held to demand the return of the Northern Territories which are presently held by Russia, to Japan on February 7 , Northern Territories Day. Rengo is a member of the organizing committee for the rally and Mr. Otsuka the Central Executive Director in Organizing Department of Rengo made a speech supporting the return of the disputed territories to Japan.
Mr. Otsuka spoke about Rengo’s campaign activities, including the participation of over 200 trade unionists from Rengo in an exchange project where they traveled to the northern territories without visas. He also urged government representatives who were present at the Rally, including Prime Minister Abe, Foreign Minister Aso and the Minister State for Okinawa and Northern Territories Affairs, Ms. Takaichi, to hold further bilateral discussions.
