As a part of the 2006 Spring Struggle for a Better Life, RENGO has launched for the first time the Joint Struggle Committee for Part-time Workers with the objective of realizing equal and fair treatment for part-time workers. For four days from 22 March, RENGO held the second meeting of the Committee “to organize the unorganized” for targeted Industrial Federations. The meeting discussed and exchanged various efforts Federations had made and came to a successful end with great expectation.

Although they have faced various difficulties in different situations, the joint struggle has been steadily coming to an opportunity. RENGO will continue further working on the issue to coax acceptable answers from employers.

Organizing Team:
Mr. Sakurada, Chair of the Joint Struggle Committee for Part-time Workers (JSD President)
Mr. Tsutsui, Chair of the Joint Struggle Liaison Committee for Part-time Workers (JSD Vice President)
Mr. Suga, Executive Director, Department of Working Conditions, RENGO
Mr. Tamura, Director, Working Conditions Division, RENGO
Mr. Ebata, Assistant Director, Working Conditions Division, RENGO
