The ABC’s of trade union education: A course to learn how to form a trade union by case studies and from real experiences
26 May 2006
From 17-19 May, an introductory trade union course was held to learn how to form a union. The course was organized in the campus of the Hitotsubashi University, in cooperation with the University’s Labour Forum with the objective to provide prospective union leaders with an opportunity to think of forming a union on their own initiatives. The course was made up with a video presentation describing the formation of a union, talks on processes of forming 6 real unions, including those in manufacturing and service sectors, role playing, and small group discussions, by all of which all participants became prepared for and acquired a concrete idea of making a union.
