On 2 April, RENGO handed “Urgent proposal on comprehensive measures against spread of COVID-19 infection” to Mr. Nishimura, Minister of Economic Revitalisation, who is in charge of Coronavirus issue.
At the beginning, General Secretary Aihara handed and emphasised following three points;
1. To prioritise the prevention further spread of COVID-19 considering current situation worsen day after day;
2. To take urgent measures so that people reassure their daily lives and the firms continues their business;
3. To protect jobs surely by every measures including the increase of the Employment Adjustment Subsidy.
Then he explained the results of “intensive labour consultation on the spread for COVID-19 infection” which RENGO instituted. RENGO delivers the reality brought by many working people who are seriously suffered and under current circumstances due to the spread of COVID-19.
Minister Nishimura said “We recognise the employment gradually has significant impact. The rate of the Employment Adjustment Subsidy was raised but it should be taken advantage of otherwise it would be meaningless. Also we will simplify and expedite the office procedures by necessary measures including the cooperation with certified social insurance and labour consultant. We will consider to provide cash through ‘My number system’. We hope to overwhelm the current adverse situation under the cooperation with RENGO”.
